Enthousiastic performance by pupils B1O

Annual TTO presentation evening was appreciated by parents, brothers and sisters of the pupils.

The varied programme consisted of all kinds of presentations like two-minute talks, a power point presentation about Canterbury cathedral, English commercials counseled by drama teacher Tineke Prins, two exciting acrobatic acts (assignment Physical education), guest speaker Simon Klaver and the reciting of poems.

The evening was presented by pupils Rolf Willems and Inge Haselager.

Special this year was the mystery guest. Presenter Rolf Willems organized a ‘Skype meeting’ with former pupil of B1O Felipe Giesen Linssen who started this school year at the Philips but moved back to Texas just before the Christmas holidays. Since nobody of B1O was informed, this was a very pleasant surprise.

Geography teacher Susan Janssen (one of the accompanying teachers on the Canterbury trip) concluded the evening by announcing the winning group of the photo contest (one of the assignments in Canterbury). The picture of Annique, Femke and Anniek was considered to be more original than the pictures of the red telephone booths of the other groups. The three girls were rewarded with a gift voucher for ‘Huupkens’.

After this the pupils received a poetry bundle taken care of by Matt Verstappen.

Team leader Peter van der Heijden expressed his pride of the pupils’ performance and their level of English in his closing speech.
