Two visitors for our TTO-classes on Friday May 31st : Marga Peeters and Henk Steuten, both civil servants from the European Commission.

Marga and Henk told the pupils about their studies (econometrics and accountancy), about their jobs all over the world and about their ambition to join the EU.

Their work for the EU differs a lot: Marga works in the development corporation and deals especially with the “third –world” part of Asia, while Henk does common agricultural policy, which means he travels all over Europe.

At the end of their speech, Marga and Henk put up some statements concerning the EU and asked the pupils to agree or disagree, by raising a green or pink card. After having made their choice, the pupils were asked to put forward their reasons which led to a lively discussion.
