Baseball clinic for V3D by former baseball coach Craig McMorland.

Report by Nadja Verspagen:

Friday morning, the 24th of June, we had our last PE lesson of the year. However, it was not a normal lesson! We got a baseball clinic from a coach of a real baseball team: Mr. Mcmorland!

At 8.20, we arrived at the baseball field of the Indians. Here we changed clothes and went outside, where Mr. van Dijk and Mr. Mcmorland were already waiting for us. After we had listened to some explanation, we did a warming-up and some stretching. After this the real practicing could begin.

Everybody took a glove, and we started catching and throwing the ball.

After we’d done this for a little while, we went on with some other exercises. Mr. Mcmorland divided us into groups, and we had to practice some different aspects of the game. Most of them included hitting and catching the ball, but there was one weird exercise. You had to make yourself small and protect yourself, while your group members threw balls at you. According to the teachers this was good because it’s important to learn how to protect yourself against the ball…

In the end, we did a real baseball game. We really liked this clinic, and I hope you liked reading this report!
