IB students take part in BBC Public Speaking Competition in Oss.

 

Saturday February 26 three IB students took part in the first preliminary round of the BBC Public Speaking Competition.Myrthe Peeters, V6, Aniek van Kimmenade and Maartje Joosten, both from V5 presented their speeches, lasting approx. 5 minutes to a jury of three, a timekeeper, fans, teachers and fellow participants.
After the speech questions asked by the members of the jury and the audience had to be answered by the contestants. The winners and runners-up from each heat will be participating in the semi finals which will be held in Utrecht on March 26.
All the contestants received a certificate, a dictionary, a mouse and feedback on their speeches from the members of the jury.

We congratulate Aniek van Kimmenade who was the runner-up in heat 2.
She will be representing our school in the semi finals with her speech: Is life becoming more dangerous?
