Class B1V had a basketball clinic at ‘Aan de Bron’ on Wednesday 27th April. The clinic was led by Clio Wright and Joost Padberg from basketball club BSW Upstairs. Clio (1,94 m tall) is an American born and raised in Washington D.C. After playing college basketball in the States he came to Europe where he has been living since 1977 to play professional basketball. At this moment he is the coach of the U16. Joost (2,02 m tall) is a Dutch forward player and youth international of 20 years old. He has been playing basketball on a professional level for several years now: first in den Bosch, later in Leeuwarden and at the moment he plays in Weert.
The clinic started out with some ball handling skills. After this the students learned a bit more about the techniques of shooting and the lay up. There were also a lot of dribbling exercises involved. After working on these different skills the students tried to use these skills in a small basketball game on the large pitch.
The clinic was ended by a big yell! All the students were enthusiastic and had a great time.
