TTO trip for first graders to Canterbury.

The first TTO class B1V at the Philips van Horne went to Canterbury for a two day trip.

On Thursday morning a group of 29 students from B1V and three teachers left for a two day trip to the beautiful town Canterbury in the UK. After a bus drive and a successful boat journey they arrived in England.

The first thing on the programme was getting settled in the YHA Youth Hostel of Canterbury. After dropping their luggage and choosing their beds the students went for a guided boat tour on the river in Canterbury. After dinner at Marlows the scary part of the trip could start: the ghost walk. This was a guided walk through town where the history of the town was explained.

After a night of sleep and a firm breakfast the second day of the trip could begin. A visit to the beautiful Canterbury Cathedral was first on the programme. After the visit to the Cathedral we went to a different part of town for a theatre workshop. The students had to create the end of a story and perform this after forty-five minutes of preparation time. The students had a great deal of fun and the performances were wonderful!

When the theatre workshop was finished it was finally time for some shopping. After an hour of shopping time the students came back with a lot of souvenirs to bring home. Then it was time to go home again after two successful days of Canterbury.
